Can Rocephin Cause Tightness In The Chest And Throat?

I have an axillary PiCC line and after three weeks of having it, I felt tightness in my chest and throat and an almost hollow feeling heart beat after I administered my rocephin this morning. After laying on my back to open up my chest and taking a few very deep breaths to remain calm the feelings went away. Should I go to my doctor and make sure there isn t anything wrong or is that normal?

I acknowledge that suffering from such symptoms hinders your regular life and produces a disturbing source to your state of health, but I can reassure you that this event is not always related to heart problems, medical examination can be wise to eliminate any pathological condition causing such symptoms. 5 disease can produce chest and throat tightness: gastroesophageal reflux disease (Gerd), asthma, heart failure, angina (chest pain or discomfort) or anxiety. but also <1% patient receiving rocephin can have as side effects a bronchospasm ((a spasm of the bronchi that makes exhalation difficult and noisy and associated with asthma and bronchitis) that can produce chest and throat tightness. then, I’m formally sure that rocephin is the cause of your symptom, but I would like that you consult your primary care to eliminate the five diseases by an examination and to change the antibiotic. best wishes.
