Hi have Bartholine cyst reoccurance in the last 3 month each month that I menstrate which comes up and is extremly pain full then burst on its own. I have seen an OBGYN in the last 2 weeks and was put on antibiotics and yesterday the same thing happen. I have a history of STD and well genital warts. I'm really worried can the cyst be caused by past stds?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Bartholinitis is inflammation of Bartholins gland. Inflammation of Bartholins gland can be caused by various infective agents. STDs are usually not the cause of inflammation. The inflammation is usually caused by blockage of duct of Bartholins gland and thus stasis and infection. The definitive treatment for recurrent inflammation is deroofing of the Bartholins gland swelling and antibiotic therapy. I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and thus appropriate management.
