Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

Your Sinarest drug has 3 important ingredients in it:-

1. Acetaminophen. A pregnancy category B. It is excreted in breast-milk but can be taken during this period as we put it in the category of compatible with breastfeeding.

2. Chlorpheniramine. It is pregnancy category C drug and usually not recommended to use in breastfeeding mothers.

3. Pseudoephedrine. Pregnancy category C drug and it is heavily excreted in breast milk. Most pharmaceuticals write on label do not use while breastfeeding, but some say it's breastfeeding compatible.

So, I recommend you to do gargles with a suitable mouthwash like Listerine. For the best of your baby's safety and health, you should take only Tylenol over the counter available. Take plenty of fluids. Do nasal douches with warm saline water to help reduce viral load from respiratory passages and reservoirs like nostrils. Do proper rest. It is viral and will take a week (maximum) to go away starting from the start of symptoms.

Hope I answered all of your questions. Please don't forget to add your precious positive feedback to help me able to assist you better in future too. Have a wonderful time ahead. Keep in touch for a follow-up too.

Regards!
