i have recently had half of my thyroid removed as there was a chance it was cancerous, it turns out thankfully that it wasn t cancer. However i was recently put on 50mg of thyroxine tablets which gave me most of the side effects and was told to stop immediately. i have now been of the tablets for just over a week but i seem to be getting a rapid heart beat and chest pains particularly in the evening and I m quite concerned, i never had this before the tablets only whilst on them and now after is this right?
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. Your half thyroid has been removed. You were on thyroxine but because of side effects you already stop the medicine. Rapid heart rate can be due to thyroxine but you stopped before a week so it is not the reason of your rapid heart rate.
You should check your blood pressure and go for ECG once. Consult your physician and take treatment accordingly. It is not due to thyroxine. you may have some other issue.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
