Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Dr. I am currently suffering from chronic migraines and was prescribed trazodone to try and prevent them however it did not work. My current symptoms are on May 5 my period started and then was gone on May 7. I ended up with a 3 day migraine starting as soon as my period was over, with nausea, weird tight feeling in lower abdomin, tiredness and loss of appetite. However I have had a headache since and it is now May 13. My GP has DC the trazodone and put me on propanolol. My question can the trazodone effect my cycle or could it be something else.
Trazodone can change in menstrual flow. There are many different medicines that can help with migraines. Your doctor can help you find the best treatment for your situation. For mild migraine you can take acetaminophen or ibuprofen. There is also a medicine that combines acetaminophen, aspirin, and caffeine.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General & Family Physician
