Can UTI Cause Nausea And Vomiting In A Stroke Patient With Left Sided Paralysis And On Catheter?
Hi there,
My father in law had a stroke 15 years ago, therefore a decline in his mental health and paralysis to left side. There appears to be an increase in vomiting. It is not over a prolonged period, more so 1x weekly he also has a catheter, do you think this is due to a UTI? He is 78 years old.

Thanks for writing in.
Vomiting in your father in law is due to stomach related problems and not UTI. Please see that he is taking proper feeds and do not allow him to eat or drink in lying down position because it can cause aspiration and be dangerous to his health.
