General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the secondary smoke is also well known to cause various respiratory symptoms through its actions as:
- Throat irritation
- Dry cough
- Itching tonsil region or upper throat
- Difficulty in breathing or swallowing at times
- Choking sensation
- Burning eyes with discharge

My guidelines in this regard:
- Keep away from smoke area
- Deep breathing exercises
- Walking in fresh air
- YOGA
- Plenty of liquids
- Gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
