Can VA/Per Tobacco Smoke Cause Itchiness And Sore Throat?
MY SON HAS BEEN WITH ME FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS. MY HANDS AND HEAD STARTED ITCHING. I THOUGHT IT MAY HAVE BEEN PAIN MEDS MY DOCTOR GAVE ME FOR MY BACK. SO I STOPPED TAKING THEM. MY SON SMOKES A VAPER TOBACCO. LAST NIGHT HE SMOKED IT WHILE I WAS SLEEPING. MY THROAT GOT REALLY SORE, I WAS ITCHING ALL OVER. COULD THIS BE MY PROBLRM?
As per my clinical experience, the secondary smoke is also well known to cause various respiratory symptoms through its actions as: - Throat irritation - Dry cough - Itching tonsil region or upper throat - Difficulty in breathing or swallowing at times - Choking sensation - Burning eyes with discharge
My guidelines in this regard: - Keep away from smoke area - Deep breathing exercises - Walking in fresh air - YOGA - Plenty of liquids - Gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
