my father is taking Warfarin but is also experiencing minor strokes. We also found out he has a subdural hematoma. We were told to take him off the Warfarin. What is the Warfarin doing to the hematoma? Will it get worse and what could happen? We re worried if he goes off the Warfarin he ll have a MAJOR stroke. Thank you, Gayle
Warfarin is a drug whcih prevent blood clot and this can cause bleeding. It might have provoked the internl bleeding and caused hematoma inside the brain.
Consult a neurosurgeon and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query.
