Can Wellbutrin XL Be Taken Instead Of Bupropion HCL XL 300mg?
I m taking bupropion HCL XL 300mg once a day. My pharmacy was out of this form and gave me Wellbutrin XL and there was (to me) a difference in how I reacted to the meds! I seem to do better on the Wellbutrin XL , can I tell my pharmacy I don t want the bupropion, and would prefer Wellbutrin and get it, without getting a new script from my doctor.

Wellbutrin XL is the brand name for bupropion HCL XL. Form your wordings, I would say you were most probably on a generic bupropion HCL XL and now shifted to branded Wellbutrin XL.
If my patient is taking the same dose of Wellbutrin XL instead of prescribed bupropion XL; I would have no qualms whatsoever about it. In fact I would be happy that you are doing better on Wellbutrin XL.
