Can A CT Scan, Detect Cancer In The Bladder And Kidneys?

I have had blood in my urine for years. Not visual with my eyes. I have had bladder/kidney ultrasounds, And recently a CSCAN to check bladder and kidneys. My dr. Is suggesting I have a cystoscopy. I had this done 25 yrs. ago and had a very bad experience and I don t feel comfortable with doing this again. My question is: Why can t a CSCAN show if there is cancer there. Why do I now need a cystoscope.

Hello,
Blood in urine is not a normal finding.
If CT scans fail to show any pathology, the next step would involve examination from inside.
Hence cystoscope examination has been advised.
