Can A CT Scan Determine Residual Damage To My Lungs Due To Smoking?

HI I smoked as a student as much as 15-20 cigs a day for a few months at a time. Then in my late twenties i picked it up as a casual habit but for only a year and only a few cigs a day. So in total 2 months about one pack per day then 2-3 a day for about 12 months all before 31 years of age. How would one rate my risk and would one recommend getting a CT scan to see if there is any residual damage in my lungs?

Welcome to health care magic.

1.On a CT scan of the patient with chronic smoking most common finding is emphysematous changes with multiple cystic changes on the x-ray.
2.In the CT scan multiple bronchi-ectatic changes with inflammatory features of thickened bronchi, bronchioles.
3.Mutiple cystic changes with emphysematous bull-a are seen.
4.Due to chronic smoking small pulmonary nodules are seen which needs to be assessed well as chances to get malignancy are there with smoking.
5.I would recommend to quit smoking to avoid risk factors. Good luck.

Hope i have answered your query,
