Can A HCG Diet Cause DVT And Liver Lesions?

I am a 37 year old female, 5' 3", 139 lbs, who has done the HCG diet for two short term periods over the past five years. In the past two years, I have developed major health issues, including a recent DVT, liver lesions, and chronic fatigue / chronic pain. Could these health problems be a result of the previous HCG diets?

Hello,

I understand your concern. First of all, I must say that there is no scientific basis that HCG promotes weight loss. The weight loss in this kind of diet comes from the daily very low calorie intake.
It is scientifically proven, however, that HCG can cause blood clots, sometimes fatal, which may lead to a series of health concerns, including deep vein thrombosis and also thrombosis and failure in other organs. Known side effects of HCG are also headaches and depression.
In conclusion, it is very possible that what you are experiencing are a result of the HCG injections so I recommend you stay away from this kind of weight loss and try a healthier approach such as regular meals with moderate calorie intake paired with regular physical activity.
Wishing you good health and all the best.
