Can A Bite Wound On The Inside Of The Cheek Be Treated?

My five year old just tipped the stool while brushing her teeth. She banged her chin on the counter at the sink and bit the inside of her cheek. She cries for a couple of minutes and spit some blood with her toothpaste. I got the bleeding to stop and gave her ibuprofen. Should I be doing anything else?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your query as your daughter joy her chin over the sink and bit the inside of cheek that has led to tear the mucosa and causing bleeding and pain and there must be ulceration of mucosa due to bite and injury..

Nothing to worry as the Oral cavity has a profuse blood supply and the healing will take place soon..
If there is pain you can repeat the dosage of Ibuprofen and can also apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine to relieve pain..
Make her suck ice lollies to reduce inflammation and soothe the mucosa..
Give her soft and bland food..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
