Can A Blister Due To Burn Lead To Stiffness In The Lower Part Of The Thumb?
I burned my thumb on a 400 degree oven tonight (nothing new for me) and can clearly see the blister on the top part of my thumb near my knuckle. However the bottom part or pad of my thumb near the knuckle is now bruised and very stiff and a little sore not to mention hot. What might cause this? Something related to the burn or possibly unrelated?
Such high amount of temperature can cause coagulation of protein of cartilage and ligament leading to stiffness.
You need to apply silver sulfadiazine cream or other to reduce inflammation and swelling.
GIVE REST TO JOINT AND START EARLY PHYSIOTHERAPY ONCE TISSUE HEALS.
Wish you good health
Take care.
