Can A Fall Affect Stints Implanted In Heart?

My father had 2 heart attacks last month, now has 2 stents and doing well. but he slipped down a ramp and fell today, hard, flat on his back. He has severe pain in back on both shoulder blades when he tries to move. Won't let me call anyone. He is 81. Any suggestions as to what this could be? Bruised or broken rib? Also, can a fall hurt his heart stents? He has no chest pain.

Hi,

For heart stents you should not worry, there is no harm after falling.
But I would advise to persuade your father to see a doctor for workup, to exclude injuries of ribs and vertebra.

Wishing good health to your father

Regards,
