Can A Hornet Sting Cause Hives, Feelings Of Flu And Nausea?

Hi-question....yesterday afternoon I was stung by a hornet. I felt pain but nothing horrible. Later in the night I started to get hives spotted up the arm I was stung in as well as a flu like feeling, including nausea, headache, exhaustion & very sore/stiff neck- these symptoms are still present, is this related to the sting?

Thanks for contacting HCM

I am sorry to hear that you got a hornet sting the other day. The hornet can inject a venom and the reaction can be delayed. From your description it sounds like you are having hives from the sting. You can try using over the counter antihistamines like diphenhydramine or certirizine. If you start to develop any shortness of breath, closing of the throat or lung wheezing I recommend you seek immediate medical attention.

Hope this helps answer your query. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us again.
