Can A Medicine Be Used Safely After Its Expiry Date?
I just found a box of Singulair 10mg tab samples that my pulmonary specialist gave me for my COPD which I had misplaced. I am out of my Montelukast perscription and won't be getting it until 10 days. Unfortunately, the Expiration date on the samples is June 2013. Can I use them safely?
No It would not be the wise decision to have such medication.
Not because it may cause some harms but the truth is that after the expiry date the medicine loose their ptency & they wont be able to produce the intened effect rather may cause some untoward effects which may be as significant as life theratening reactions.
If the matter would benn have the weeks or two the advice in your favour could have been given but as they have past mre than 6 mothes it wont be adviceble to consume such medications.
Sorry.
