Can A Pack Of Dexolac 1 Be Used After 3 Weeks Of Opening It?

Hello doctor, My baby is about to complete 5 months. 2 weeks back i gave her dexolac1 for around 5days as i felt she was not getting enough feed from me. I wanted to clarify that can i not use the pack after 3weeks? Its mentioned so on the pack. What will happen if its used aftr 3 weeks? I mainly want to concentrate on breastfeeding. I also have one more doubt. Although i am using bottle now, i want to use cup to feed her but what kind of cup will be suitable? I tried using spoon but it turned out to be very messy. Please help me out.

Hi..Can understand and appreciate your concern.As per your query the Dexolac which is a baby's food formula which to used up soon after opening the pack because it contains milk solids and nutrients which gets easily spoiled after air exposure....As instructed by manufacturer...Try to breast feed your baby as much as possible as it contains all the essential nutrients needed for growth and development of stronger immunity.If milk production is scarce ,try to give natural and home made porridge like moong dal water,rice water,honey along with your feeds. As your baby will grow and his appetite will also increase and you can switch to some semisolids like mashed banana and potatoes ,kheer etc Now baby is too small to drink with cup.You can use stainless steel bowl and spoon to feed baby.If not possible feeding bottle is ok.but it should be properly washed and germ free....Try to take fibre rich food in your diet.take milk,juices and pulses to increase your milk production...
