Can A Person Reduce Bad Cholesterol And Weight By Drinking Water Boiled With Coconut Shell?

Hi Doctor!

Just with a curiosity, I thought of asking this question!!
Can a person reduce bad cholesterol and weight by drinking water boiled with coconut shell?
I got this info from a person in my hometown and there are people who say this works...
So, thought of asking a Ayurveda doctor for expert advice.

Sorry, if this is a silly question.

Hello,
Modern medical science doesn't support this theory.
Level of bad cholesterol, namely LDL,is increased by over consumption of fatty foods and in some cases it is due to more manufactuiring by your liver.
To reduce bad cholesterol one has to have proper dietary restrictions along with healthy eating and regular aerobic exercises.
You must avoid eating seets, deep fried foods, junk foods, colas and saturated fats.
If the levels of LDL cholesterol are high and associated with diabetes or hypertension, then proper anti cholesterol medicines like STATINS are prescribed to lower these levels and lower the risk.
Thanks
