Hi,

Cysts are sacs that may recollect fluid or become infected. Recurrent Bartholin cysts can occur despite normal treatment, in this case, the doctor can drain the cyst and then stitch the walls - this procedure is called marsupialization and it is associated with a low percent of cyst recurrence (5 to 15 %).

Your gynecologist may be able to do it as an outpatient. If recurrence still occurs then the cyst or sac itself can still be removed. There are options to help you get rid of it completely.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
