Can A Transvaginal Scan Test Show False Negative Results?

Good day to all doctors..i need an obgyne to answer these questions: I am confused, when i had a pregnancy test just last Sunday, it was negative at first then hours passed by, when my sister was about to throw the test pack, i checked it again and i think there is a second line but it is not clear, it is a faint line......i tried again but i bought a cheaper one this time it was negative but there was no instruction on how many drops to put, after 30minutes i added more drops then there was a faint second line that appeared....but i think it was not valid anymore....now to clear my confusion, i went to my doctor and was asked for a TVS, the result was negative...but i have a feeling that i am pregnant... is there a case that pregnancy will not still be detected because it might be too early for the ultrasound? thank you

It depends on when you had your last period. If the first day of your last period was about 5-6 weeks back, then the TVS should have picked it up. Before this time,i.e., if your period was less than 5 weeks back, it may show false negative results because it is too early for TVS to pick up.
In a rare occasion, TVS can miss a pregnancy outside the uterus even after 5-6 weeks. But there are other signs that suggest pregnancy.
It is advisable to repeat the urine test after 2 weeks.
