Can Administration Of Numlo Cause Water Retention Problem?
hello doc...my father age 83 years has been on s numlo 2.5 for many years...recently he lost my mother and got symptoms of anxiety,restlessness and loss of appetite...his echocardiogram shows normal,treadmill test normal,blood tests normal...he has slight water in his lungs and water retention....is this the side effect of s numlo 2.5...he has now changed to telma 4o....thanks

Thank you for your question.I understand your concern.Tab.s numlo is a calcium channel blocker which rarely gives water retention. In my opinion, water retention in the lungs may be due low grade cardiac failure.You may consider giving him a low dose diuretic, to reduce the water retention.And telma is a better drug than s amlo for cardiac failure too. So you may discuss with your treating doctor to consider a diuretic. Hope i answered your question.
