What Could Cause Sudden Panic Attack With Pain In Neck?

I am a 25 year old petite female weighing in at about 105lbs. I ve had asthma since about 7 yrs old. In 2009 I was bitten by something that had me hospitalized twice during my pregnancy. Since i was pregnant not much was found to know exactly what the problem was. Lyme disease was a concern but never confirmed. My father and grandfather have had Thyroid disease. I am currently on the Depo Provera shot as my choice of birth control. I also suffer from anxiety attacks but over a week ago I have had chest pains. The pain was directly on my left side causing heavy feeling in chest, mescle tension in my neck, left arm, left shoulder and weird numb feeling on the left side of my jaw. The pain last about 6 days so I went to the emergency room. They noticed my heart was beating fast and ordered an EKG. The EKG came back abnormal so they ordered blood tests, checked my thyroid and an x-ray. All came back fine but ordered me to have an Echocardiogram done with a Cardiologist later in the week. The visit to the emergency room was on a saturday and that following tuesday I had a severe panic attack out of nowhere. That coming friday I had the echo done and it came back okay. Now I have pain to the tough in front of my neck. What could possibly be wrong? Please help! I m a young mother of two girls worried out my mind.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Pain in front of the neck arises from a variety of causes ranging from simple musculoskeletal causes to referred pain from visceral organ pathology. Most of the referred pains have other symptoms also which helps in making the diagnosis. Since you don't have any other symptom it appears to be a case of musculoskeletal pain. You need to do warm saline fomentation along with rest. If it recovers in a week nothing else is needed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
