Is Enlarged Heart At The Right Ventricle Of An Infant Concerning?

Is an enlarged heart at the right ventricle something to worry about? Just found out that my 18 month old has this through an echocardiogram and I do not see the Dr until Dec. The nurse at my pediatricians office spoke to me before the Dr read the results from the cardiologist office and is having me go back in 8 weeks to see the cardio Dr. What would the wait be for?

Hello,

It the pumping function is within the normal range, only follow up will be enough. Consult a pediatric cardiologist and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
