Can Alcohol Cause Bleeding From Rectum In A Hepatitis C And Deep Vein Thrombosis Patient?

11 days ago, my husband started bleeding profusely from the rectum. He was admitted to ICU for 3 days, then in a regular room for the next 4. He still had bleeding yesterday, but none today. The blood was bright red, and a lot of it. He was checked thoroughly....CT Scans, EGD, Colonoscopy. He is Factor 5, and has had DVT, and has HEP C. He is on Coumadin. All tests came back normal. He has slight colonitis, and gastritis in his small intestine. Otherwise, he is healthy. He did drink a considerable amount of beer the night before the bleeding started, and had diarrhea that next morning when he noticed the blood. He continued to bleed over the next 11 days. His PSA count and everything else is good. Doctors are stumped and we just don t know what to think or do? Do we go to a different hospital and start all over? We have an appointment with our GP in the morning. Are there questions that we can ask him?? Just don t know what to do. Oh, my husband is 50. Thank you so much! Maureen

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I can understand your concern for your husband, when his all the test turned unremarkable then the near cause would be fissures or pile that must have been missed, you do have appointment with your GP then surely ask for the hemorrhoid I am sure either of this would be cause of his bleeding have nice day.
