Can Alcohol Ingestion Post Gallbladder Removal Cause Excessive Intoxification?
I am a 34 year old female and I had my gallbladder removed 3 weeks ago because of an acute attack of pancreatitis and stones. I also have familial hypertriglycerademia type 5. Anyhow, I had 3 drinks of alcohol in a 3 hour period last night for the 1st time since surgery and it did not go well. I was completely intoxicated and continued to feel more and more intoxicated for the 3 hours after my last drink. Initially I thought maybe someone put something in my drink but after realizing it was the 1st time I drank since the removal I started looking into on line and found many people reporting the same effect since their removal however, I can t find any scientific reason or data of why this happens or why I wasn t warned by my doctor or surgeon. Will this always be an issue or will it go away? I would love to better understand this phenomenon or have a credible resource for information regarding it. Thank you for your time.
