Can Alcohol Withdrawal Cause Painful Bumps On The Back?

My husband has odd swollen painful bumps on his right side and around to his back. He says they only hurt when touched. Does not appear to look like shingles. I am curious if this could be an alcohol withdrawal? He has drank for years and just last Saturday has quit drinking...

Alcohol withdrawal do not cause bump on the back of the person. Alcohol withdrawal usually characterized by anxiety, restlessness, craving for alcohol, poor sleep and palpitation.

Anxiety reduces pain threshold. So in alcohol withdrawal patient may feel pain in preexisting bumps on back, which is usually self limiting in nature.
