Can An Abortion Lead To Infertility Issues?
I had an abortion 18 years ago and had a sever infection after to the point I required another operation to clean the infection. I have been trying to fall pregnant for the last nine months and have just had my third round of unsuccessful IVF. Could the abortion have caused fertility issues?

Thanks for writing to HCM .
Before doing IVF they must have done hysterosalpingo graphy(HSG) and hysteroscopy. Abortion and D and C may cause adhesions or tubal block. But these things can be diagnosed by HSG and hysteroscopy.
If they are not there then your abortion is not the cause for infertility.
