Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I began transitioning my daughter from the family bed last night and would like to know if it would be okay to let her continue napping in the family bed until she is more comfortable in her room. I don't want to take a step backward, but am afrid she won't nap at all if I put her in her crib. Your thoughts?
More about her:
She has always napped and slept in the family bed. She is 20 months old and would nurse to sleep everytime if she had her way (up until last night she has always had her way). She did great last night; I stayed in the room with her until she fell asleep - just a little over an hour. She finally fell asleep standing up and I had to ley her down. I suspect she may have slept some of the night sitting up - When I picked her up this morning she was sleeping sitting up.
Hi, Thank you for asking question on health care magic. It is better to allow her to nap along with you in the family bed. If you want to put her in a separate crib, keep the crib by your bed side so that you can attend her if required immediately during night time.
