DIFFUSE POSTERIOR DISK BULGES IS SEEN AT C3-C4 LEVEL WHICH ALONG WITH POSTERIOR PERIDISCAL OSTEOPHYTES CAUSE MINIMAL INDENTATION OVER CERVICAL CORD,BILATERAL TRAVERSING AND EXITING NERVE ROOTS. MINIMAL DIFFUSE POSTERIOR DISC BULGE AT C5-C6 LEVELS CAUSES MINIMAL INDENTATION OVER THECAL SAC ONLY. CAN U PLEASE EXPLAIN THAT WHAT WILL BE EFFECT OF IT ON BODY?
According to MRI report you have degenerative disc disease of cervical spine. Degenerative changes occurs in spine due to aging and development of weakness in annulus fibrosis which allows herniation of disc.
1.At C3-C4 level, there is diffuse posterior disc bulge along with posterior peridiscal osteophytes and it is causing minimal indentation over spinal cord and bilateral traversing and exiting nerve roots. 2.At C5-C6 level, there is minimal diffuse posterior disc bulge along with minimal indentation over thecal sac only.
Treatment for degenerative lumbar disease includes physiotherapy or surgery. Effectiveness of both modalities are same. So,physiotherpay should be tried first. It causes strengthening of Para spinal muscles and it prevents further changes. Surgery should be the last option. There are also medicines like capsule pregabalin available for pain relief. Treatment can be planned after consultation with neurosurgeon. Get well soon.
