Can An Online Doctor Read MRI Of Cervical Spine?

My wife aged about 37 years is suffering from right hand pain since last couple of years.Now,she is under treatment at Apollo Gleneagles Hospital,Kolkotta under Dr.Tathagat Das,M.Ch(Ortho).As per MRI report of servical spine,the following findings are observed.
Disco-Verbroligamentous changes(?degenerative) with thecal sac indentations
Right C6-C7 neural foraminal compromises.

Doctor suggests for surgery.Kindly advise if there is any alternatives.

Thanks for writing to us

According to report,you are suffering from degenerative disc disease of cervical spine.
Degenerative changes occurs in spine due to aging and development of weakness in annulus fibrosis.

1.At C6-7 level there is disc,verterbral and ligamantous changes and it is causing thecal sac indentations and compromise of neural foramen.

Majority of the cases of degenerative spine disease are benefited by physiotherapy,so physiotherapy should be tried first.
Surgery should be the last option.
There are also medicines like capsule pregabalin available for pain relief.
