Can Anxiety Medicines, Bupropion And Guanfacine, Cause Snoring And Labored Breathing In Sleep?
I have a 15 year old grandson who was put on bupropion in addition to guanfacine at night to help anxiety. Over past month I have noticed he is breathing heavier and more labored. At night, he snores terribly and very labored breathing. He doesn t rest----it is like he is having difficulty breathing. At first I thought it was he was fighting a cold. But cold symptoms still evident---with heavy mucous from nose---very dark yellow ad thick and sometimes a green color. I am worried something more may be going on. His Dr has been out of the country but plan to make appt this week. In meantme, can you shed some light on what may be wrong. Is it the meds---::::::???????

Hi Anxiety medicine can cause snoring. But if an yellowish and greenish discharge is seen then it should be an upper respiratory infection. In that case you can show him to an ENT specialist and have antibiotics and nasal decongesants which might help him. Hope this may help you thanks
