Can Any Online Doctor Help Me With The Following Results?
there is no evidence of mild atrophy of the cerebral cortex with compensatory expansion off the ventricular system and the extra axial spaces. there are mild periventricular and subcortical white matter hypodensities without mass effect, suspicious for chronic small vessel disease.
Atropy refers to death or breakdown of tissue , the result indicates that none of this is seen on the scan.
The ventricles refer to spaces in the brain, if there is death or loss of brain tissue, these spaces may appear larger. Since there is no atrophy or brain loss, then the result states that there is NO noted enlargement of the ventricles.
It also states that there are areas in certain parts of the brain that there are hypodensities. This means areas that there are areas that appear lighter that the surrounding brain tissue. Chronic small vessel disease means that the changes may be related to long term changes that may be due to conditions such as hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, ageing
I hope this helps
