Can Bleeding While Passing Stools Be Internal After Hurting Tailbone?
Hi, so a week ago I hit my tailbone pretty hard and it wasn't in till recently that is starting to hurt really bad when I sit down or sometimes when I am standing up. Also I went to the bathroom to get ride off my waste and when I wiped I saw a little bit of blood and that was 2 days in arrow and today I experience a good amount of bleeding out of nowhere but this time it wasn't from my anus and I know is not my period so could it mean that I am internally bleeding or something else?.
Hello and welcome to HCM, It is important to know the site of bleeding whether it is from anus, vagina or surrounding structures. Trauma or injury to tail bone can cause fracture of the bone or injury to the surrounding soft tissues. However, injury of this type will not cause bleeding in such a manner. You need to consult your doctor for clinical examination, and relevant investigations. A radiograph needs to be done to look at the status of the spine. other investigations can only be decided after clinical examination.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
