Can Blood On Pad Transferred From Toilet Seat Cause HIV?
On Monday, I was using a public bathroom. I usually squat so that I don t touch the toilet seat and as I finished i saw that the bottom of the bowl of the toilet seat had menstrual blood on it. At the time I was on my period and the only thing that touched the blood on the toilet seat was the end of my pad. Could I get hiv by the blood on the seat getting onto the back of my pad?
Hello You were on your knee on the toilet seat and there was pad ( although you were on your period ). In the bottom of the bowl there was blood but that was in the water and by accident blood touched your pad ( end of pad ) . There are so many points that you didn't got any HIV infection. Assuming that the blood was HIV infected . The blood touched on the outer surface of your pad and virus can't survive in water because they require protein for their survival , while in toilet water although blood was there but it was diluted ,so rare chance of infection. 2nd point is that pad was thick and virus ( blood ) can't cross the pad and reach to vaginal opening ( main source of virus entry). In my opinion there is no chance of getting HIV infection. I don't recommend any type of test for this . Hope this will help you.
