Can Cardiac Arrest Cause Sudden Death?
Dear Dr.,
My father had a cardiac arrest when nobody was surrounded.we noticed him unconscious after 15 mts.and taken to hospital.but unfortunately he passed away before reaching to hospital.
The day before he had a minor left arm pain and stomach disturbances.he ignored it as he thought its because of something else.he was 73 years old with 5.4" height and 65 Kg weight.He was very active and doing all daily works.
I would like to know what had happened to him.The doctors confirmed it as cardiac arrest.

sorry for ur loss,
according to the history provided by you he must have had a heart attack which was neglected due to mild symptoms.
in heart attack the heart tissue dies which leads to various disturbances like problem in the conduction system which leads to irregular beating or failure of heart due to death of tissue..that must have lead to sudden death.
most common cause of myocardial infarction (heart attack) is smoking..other causes like obesity diabetes stress levels family history etc also play an important role.
