No, chikunguniya virus never causes rise in blood sugar.
Chikunguniya virus belongs to the flavivrus group of virus, which has prime target of joint tissues. So joint pain is obvious in the chikunguniya virus.
Blood sugar may fluctuate because of the
fever associated with infection. Fever may catabolize large amount of the sugar may increase the sugar level.
Pelase take the
aceclofenac and
paracetamol tablet for pain control. Please consult your doctor before you take the drug.
Steroids can be taken once or twice if joint pain is excruciating. But this requires doctors guidance.
