Can Cholesterol Readings Be Affected By Exercising Prior To A Blood Test?

To what extent would exercising (pretty vigiously - running 2.5 miles and lifting weights) two hours before a blood test have on a cholestrol reading (e.g., HDL)? I'm 40 years old in relatively good shape (I workout 3-4 times a week doing 50 minutes of cardio). However, I have high cholestrol level 239.

Hello and thank you for using HCM. I carefully read your question and I understand your little concern. But you should not worry, I'll try to explain you something and give you some advises.
Physical taring is very very good. I compliment you for doing such think. It helps you a lot keeping down your cholesterol levels. Exercise training before taking a blood test for cholesterol does not effect your results. There is not a medical connection between exercise and timing of your cholesterol or any reason of physical activity that could rise your cholesterol. Instead, as I told you before, we alleyways recomend in our daily practice exercise to lower cholesterol levels. But, as you say you steel have a high level. My opinion is to do some lifestyle modifications with your eating. Lets try:
1. High fibre diet with vegetables, fruit.
2. Cut or limit processed food, white bread, pizzas and to much sugar.
3. Continue your physical training.
We will see the results after 2 months.
Sometimes blood cholesterol might be high simply by genetic factor. But we should see how to maintain their levels over time.
I hope I was helpful. Wish you good health and keep training.
Best Regards
