Can Crawling Sensation In The Abdomen Along The Lines Of Swelling And Rectal Bleeding In A Diabetic Indicate Lipoma Or Smthng Else?
I am a medical student and my dad often asks me for guidance if he feels unwell.....he doesn't stay with me but whenever he comes home I do a general examination on him....last time I did it I noticed a small swelling on the epigastric region...he then called me on the phone today and told me he feels a crawling sensation in the upper left abdominal quadrant extending along the lines of the swelling.... I thought it was probably a sort of neuropathy especially since he is a known Diabetic on medication...however he few weeks back he complained of rectal bleeding which stopped after he took some medication (I am not clear on what he took; all he said was it looked like some sort of allergy).....Could the swelling be a lipoma or something worse.... I would really appreciate your help.
Hello, The small swelling in epigastric region could be a lipoma but the final diagnosis can be made by a surgeon only.Consult a surgeon for physical inspection and diagnosis. Crawling sensations can be because of diabetic neuropathy or it could be due to deficiency of VIT B12. Rectal bleeding can be because of hemorrhoids, anal fissure or some other rectal pathology which should be again be examined and investigated by a surgeon. Thanks
