Can Dental Work Cause Sinus Infection With Fever And Headache?
My boyfriend recently had some dental work done (fillings to be precise) They were pretty long over-due. Last night he was feverish and complaining of a bad sinus headache. The fever seems to have gone but the headache remains this morning. Is it a sinus infection?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain filling of teeth has not been seen to cause so deep infection that there is fever and sinus infection as in case if a tooth needs filling and no other extensive treatment it means the infection is not very deep that it can get into the blood and cause systemic infection..
It is although possible that you have been exposed to bacterial or Viral Infection through use of contaminated dental instruments or through any other infected individual or thing..
It is not necessarily sinus infection as in case of common Bacterial and Viral Infection fever and headache can be experienced..
You can take Tylenol for fever and in case if headache does not improve by it you can take Ibuprofen..
In case if the symptoms does not improve consult a general physician and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
