Can Depression And Migraine Cause Rapid Heart Beat?
I'm 49 years old. I had my hand shiver n heart beat very fast recently. I feel very tired often n sometimes difficult in breathing. I do take coffee every morning n sometimes I drink beer when there is a function. I have been taking sleeping pills (stilnox) given by my doctor for past 3 months coz I have depression and cannot sleep well at night and I had migraine the next day. Pls advise me what should do coz I felt very shame each time my hand shiver when I gave something to people.
Hi thanks for posting your query on healthcare magic. As per your clinical history, the handshakes in your case is most likely due to drug induced tremor. Sleeping pills when used for prolonged time can result in abnormal muscular contractions of extremities particularly more pronounced while performing an action, called intentional tremors. Dose reduction of your sleeping pills with drug holiday on weekends will improve your symptoms. Rescheduling the dosage of anti migraine drugs will also help. Low dose morning antidepressants can improve depression. Consult an expert psychiatrist for further assistance. Thank you. Take care.
