Can Dermoid Be Cause For Unresponsiveness In Toddler?
Hi my son is 19months old and had a very big dermoid removed from his right eye. I am wondering if it is affecting his development. He does not react when I call him, react to easy questions like arms up, point to your nose or where is Mommy. I know he can hear certain things, but I am not certain if he can hear everything. Is the dermoid the problem or is there something else? He runs around, builds blocks and kicks balls better than most children his age. What could it be?
The dermoid in his eye may affect his vision or the visual development. Not his other developmental areas. Not responding to name calling, not pointing to the body parts or no imitative behaviour may be red flags for autism or other developmental disorders. You should consult a developmental paediatrician soon.
