IS Bloating And Gas Due To Infection Caused After Laparoscopically Removing Cyst On Ovary?

I had a dermoid cyst in my left ovary removed about three weeks ago. It was done laproscopically and part of the ovary was left intact. My recovery has been slow but OK but this week I have had a lot of bloating and really bad smelling gas. Should I be worried about an infection?

Hi,

No. I don't think that you should worry about infection in this case. I think you are suffering to gastritis post surgery so start a pantoprazole course. Also, do a ultrasound examination of whole abdomen to rule out other causes.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
