Can Dolowin Cause Liver Failure?
Hi doctor I need help here. My friend a female aged 25 weight 47 kg took 9 dolowin tablets i think 650 mg of paracetamol. It was yesterday night at 12. when she told me in morning i told her to vomit, and there was some white phlegm in the vomit. She was allright then, now the next day afternoon she is having abdominal pain. I saw in the net that there might be liver failure. it this 9 dolowin capable of having liver failure. Please help me.

It is not likely that 9 these pills cane cause acute liver failure. Yes, it is true that paracetamol overdose may have negative impact on liver and even cause fatal liver failure. However for this is much higher dosage necessary than this one that you mention. In this case it is more likely that there is gastritis induced with Dolwoin which is onown to be irritative for stomach and bowels. She should take milk products and have easier diet and more fluids. also she should take ranitidin pills and reduce Paracetamol intake till pain persist. It should improve in short time on these measures.
