Can Duphaston Tablet Help To Conceive?

Hi i am 33 and married amd always have had irregular periods.and I am.trying yo.conceive so doc has suggested i have duphaston for 5 days and prescribed ccq100 from.day 3 -7. My husband s sperm.count is notmal. She has asked me yo.underho.follicular stufy from day 11. Since I have pcod ido not ovulate regularly. How can this tablet help.me? What r the side effects? Since my thyroid level.is little on the higher side i.e. Hypothyroid she also.put me on thyronorm . I am taking folic acid tablet regularly. Will i conceive immedietly n how do.i know the unsafe period ?please help.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM..
I understand your concern.. Your doc has given you the right treatment.. Dont worry.. Duphaston is synthetic progesterone which will help you to get withdrawal bleeding.. CCQ is clomiphene which is an ovulation induction drug taken from day2/3 for 5 days.. This helps for the follicles to develop. follicular study done on day11 helps to see the number and size of the developing follicle. Repeat Scan might be required on day 13 to see the size of follicle. It should reach 20x20mm to ovulate. This is the time u should have intercourse so that sperms will be available when ovulation occurs. U can also take hcg injection, ovulation occurs in 36 hrs during which you can get an intrauterine insemination which increases the chances of pregnancy. This method can be tried for 6 months. With PCOS alone, chance of conception is high. Good thyroid control is necessary. folic acid should be continued. Hope i have answered your queries.. Good luck.
