Can Exercise Reduce CEA Level In A Patient With Colorectal Cancer?
Can regular exercise lower( and keep lower)....a higher cea count. I have been battling colorectal cancer for two years, its metastisized to my stomach lining, but very little. My cea is steady at 90-95 for 3 months, down from almost 350......will exercise help any more?
hello, i can understand your concern. cea or the carcino embryonic antigen is a marker particularly for the colon and rectal carcinomas. c.e.a doesn't have any corelation with exercise. it is just a marker, even if cea levels reduce due to any reason other than the cancer treatment, that doesn't mean cancer is getting treated. i would advise you regular physical activity for general well being. do not think much about the co relation. since the cea has come down significantly it is a good sign. i would advise PET CT scan for you to have a clear idea about the disease status. it would also help in knowing about any residual cancer in any part of the body. hope your are satisfied with our response. thanks for choosing HCM
