Can Eye Test With An IV Cause Vertigo In 85 Year Old?

Hello,
My 85 year mother awoke one morning with severe dizziness upon standing. The day previous she had a complicated and tedious eye exam with an IV for photos and also an injection in her eye ball. Could this have caused the vertigo? The emergency room doctor said the CAT scan was OK. Thank you for your time.

Hello,Welcome to the HCM
Brief answer..It could be orthostatic hypotention or vasovagal reflex
Detailed answer...First of all I would like to know ,wether your mom is taking some antihypertensive medicine,it could be side effect (orthostatic hypotention).Other reason can be previous eye pressure can cause vagus nerve stimulation which causes vasovagal reflex and can cause dizziness or vertigo.
If she is taking anti hypertensive then dose and group of antihypertensive has to be adjusted.
Hopefully my answer will be helpfull for you.
You may discuss further without hesitation.
