Can Forehead Indentation Cause Any Problems To The Skull Or Brain?

Hello doctor, Our kid fell down from 3 feet 3 days back. His head is directly hit the floor. There is no wound, but the surface of the forehead has gone little inside. It seems somewhat like how skin goes inside to a sugar patient. Because there was little swelling in the last 2 days, we could not recognise that. Now there was no swelling, but we are able to see the forehead which has slightly gone inside at the cornor about half inch in length. Will there be any problem to the skull or brain? What are the symptoms for the same?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

It is indentation of skull. Yes, it is a problem. Sometimes internal hemorrhage can be there. Child needs elevation of forehead surgery and CAT scan for bleeds.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prasanna Lakshmi, Pediatrician
