Can Hearing Be Restored In Ears By Surgery To Correct Nasal Septum?

hello...i started getting tinnitus in my left ear since 2 weeks...went to a doctor...they performed audiometry n tympanometry...im deaf frm right ear since birth...doctor said my hearing of left ear is also diminishing which is due to a deviated nasal septum...so i need a surgery to correct my nasal septum...that will restore my hearing in both ears...is that possible? i want a second opinion

Hello,
Deviated nasal septum if causing nasal discharge, blockage etc nasal problems or ear problems like decreased hearing not responding to medicines needs surgical correction.
But before the surgical treatment it would be better if you take medicines for that and if you get a good response and get the problem again then get it treated surgically.
As you described you probably have serous otitis media.
You can take a course of oral steroids , antihistaminic , decongestant, nasal sprays both normal saline nasal sprays and steroid nasal sprays.
It might solve your problem, then get repeated Audiometry every 3 or 6 monthly depending on the improvement , and again depending on the response surgery can be planned.
