Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was given a monospot a week and a half ago. It came back positive. I had moderately swollen lymph nodes, and a cough. No fever. Fatigue was not any greater than it would have been with a cold virus. Symptoms lasted for two days and went away. I started drinking coffee and soft drinks again. Symptoms did not come back nor did I feel any pain or notice any swelling in my liver or spleen. Since the absence of the symptoms, I have been feeling 100%. Can I drink alcohol?
Hi. Thanks for your query and specific question. You have already been feeling 100 % , so why do you want to take risk. Consuming alcohol can increase your problem as it is known to increase edema in any tissue of the body where there is / was an inflammatory process going on.
I would advise you for not consuming alcohol for 3 more weeks at least.
